上游原料:氯化铵 --> 硝基盐酸 --> 钌 --> 锇(99.9%) --> 氯铱酸铵
用途二:纯铱用在飞机火花塞中，还用于制造科学仪器、热电偶、电阻丝、自来水笔尖、耐高温合金、催化剂。
方法一:工业生产可从矿石用干法制造；亦可以铜、镍的硫化矿制取铜、镍的生产过程中产生的副产物作为原料，用湿法冶炼制得。湿法把已提取镍、铜后的残留组分作为原料，加入王水进行抽提，经提取铂和钯，然后从残分中经处理提取铑、钌、锇。最后将残分加入王水处理，得到溶液加入氯化铵进行反应，生成氯铱酸铵沉淀。经重结晶，把氯铱酸铵用氢气还原，制得约99.9％铱成品。
